She has arrived! Our new granddaughter!

And her name is Piper Gaye Welch! My heart is filled with gratitude for her safe arrival, for her bountiful health, and for the happiness and well being of her Mommy and Daddy! How thrilled they sounded on the phone when they told me about her. And how adorable Piper Gaye sounded, cooing and squeaking. This is a great day - the birthday of sweet Piper Gaye!

Welcome to the world, beautiful, precious little one! I love you so! What FUN we will have together!!!

Awaiting news....

Yes, we are awaiting news, BIG news, of the arrival of our new granddaughter! She could arrive any day, any hour, any moment! This grandmotherly waiting takes me back in my mind to my own mama-waiting, 3 decades (!!!!!) ago. I was so eager to meet each of the little fellows I had been carrying around for 9 months!! Not knowing "in those days" whether I would be spending my life mothering little girls or little boys - so much to dream and plan! There is nothing - nothing in life, to compare with the experiences of becoming and then being a parent. One is forever changed! And for the better!

Godspeed little one!! Health and Happiness to you and your Mommy & Daddy, all the days of your lives! I simply can hardly wait to meet you!! I love you already, more than words can express!!

Spring! Too busy to blog!

At last! A moment to download pictures and take note of some very monumental events in the life of Little Bird Farm and we folks who hang out here!
Number One: Our baby granddaughter's 1st birthday! And the celebration was held right here at LBF.
Number Two: Easter Celebration with our extended family! Easter egg hunts, kite flying, and good times!
Number Three: A new well, pump, and drip irrigation for our gardens!
Now.....planting!

1st Day of Spring!

This enchanting morning snow will give everything such a thorough and deep drink of water. It will allow the remaining mustard weeds to pull up so easily in my hand (maybe)! And it will give gardeners one more day to plan and dream. Of course, my plan and dream for today comprised cultivating and then planting onions, leeks, and upland cress. But that can wait!
