Winter Contrast

We spent 3 idyllic days on Oahu! (Well, "idyllic" for me, while the Commander had to actually work half of the time). The stand-out of the trip was our drive north to Byodo In Temple, a fabulous replica of a 900 year old temple we saw in Japan. The landscape and feeling here was spectacular! We also really enjoyed small doses of Waikiki beach, especially this sunset. Everyone stopped for about 12 minutes, and quietly watched as the sun slowly dropped out of sight. It was one of those rare events that reminds me that we human-types really do have more similarities than differences.
