Oh, how time does fly!! We went to Ft Worth, Texas to celebrate Abby's 2nd birthday. And though it makes me sound old, I have to say that I can't believe she is already two; feels like she just made her "baby bird" debut! But, as she is very quick to remind us, she is NOT a baby anymore! She is a big girl. It has not turned sultry and hot yet in Texas, so we enjoyed a beautiful day at The Dallas Arboretum - "Dallas Blooms", was the name of the show, and Dallas bloomed indeed! Abby loved smelling tulips, running in the expansive grassy areas, and eating a picnic lunch. She was such a fine garden visitor! Read: adorable!
She has a new supply of toys now too! A play house, a bike, a wagon, an oven, new baking and grilling gear, new dolls, new books, and even a new jumping froggie! Lucky girl! Lucky us, to get to enjoy the time with our Texas loved ones!

Piper fun!
It's always FUN when our kids and our kids' kids come to visit us! We have just wrapped up a very full and wonderful week with Josh, Paige & little Piper here! At 10 months old, Piper is a LOT of fun, crawling so fast, pulling up to explore, EVERYTHING, cracking herself up when she does funny things....a very busy and exciting "itty bitty bird", is she! See for yourself!!

Thank you, Nate, Sara & Abby for this beautiful, fragrant birthday wreath! I love it! (And it smells delicious!)

This "arctic front" tells me that we are wimps!
Not you.....us! The unusual, enduring cold of the past few days have us huddling in front of the crackling wood stove! Slurping steaming soup and drinking hot tea by the gallon! And keeping the bird feeder filled for our feathered friends who have neither soup nor hot tea!

We've just harvested these - the last carrots of the 2010 Garden....
....and they are so delicious! Sweetened by the winter cold! We can hardly wait to plant a new spring crop, so we can enjoy more "perfect carrots"! :)
