What they say is true....

....that "the momentous intrudes upon the ordinary". And after 24 days, seeing Mom struggle with a broken hip, working hard at the Rehab Facility doing physical therapy to regain her strength, balance, and walking ability (with her walker), she is now safely back in the comfort of her home, with Papa. Yesterday at noon she made her way in the back door, all the way to her reclining chair, where she was happy to enjoy a slice of Dion's pizza (a far cry from Rehab food!!), visit a few minutes, and then close her eyes awhile. We are all breathing sighs of relief; may the new normal be as beautiful or even more beautiful than the old one! Meditating today on this old favorite, from "The Dragon's Gate Garden", above Muir Beach, CA.

A Wonderful Week in Yucatan, Mexico!

A week of glorious colors, flavors, history, sunshine and sudden downpours! What a terrific getaway we had with friends - scouring the city of Playa del Carmen for the fish market and tortillaria favored by the locals. Filling our basket with poblanos, pasillas, avocados, limes, and spices previously unknown to us in the market where Jacque (Pepin) and Rick (Bayless)shop. Being absolutely WOWED by the building, culture and language of the ancient Maya people. Iguana slinking about everywhere! Salt water swims and sunshine soaking into our winter bones. Watching a rambunctious bicycle parade as it approached its destination - the sunwashed cathedral in Valladolid, as we gobbled up hot caramel filled churros. A beautiful, dream-like week!
